Welcome to MSB's Projects
We welcome your interest and invite you to read below for an overview of the projects we are engaged in these days.
Construction of the Sangdo Palri Temple in the United States
The Sangdo Palri Temple of Wisdom and Compassion will be a physical representation of Guru Rinpoche's Glorious Copper-Colored Mountain. With great joy, work has begun on Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche’s long-cherished vision, and construction is under way at Longchen Jigme Samten Ling, our retreat center in Crestone, Colorado. Located in a beautiful, protected meadow in the heart of our land there, the three-story structure follows traditional design and architectural themes, drawing on Tibetan motifs and a Japanese aesthetic, while using American materials. Visiting or practicing in this temple will offer an inestimable opportunity for students to deepen their connection to Guru Rinpoche, as it is held to be equal in blessings to encountering Guru Rinpoche himself. The temple's presence in this world is dedicated to world peace and to beings’ progress toward enlightenment. We warmly invite you to make a connection to this vision, and welcome your participation, support, and inquiries. For more information, contact our VP of Development or visit the Sangdo Palri Temple website.
Renovation of the Shrine Room at Guna Norling
Guna Norling overlooks the Atlantic Ocean in Salvador de Bahia, and is MSB's seat in Brazil. This house was offered to the sangha by an MSB student, and has served as a place for the small community in Salvador to gather for group practice and study, and to listen to the weekly LINK teachings. It is currently undergoing renovation to accomodate a shrine room and teacher's quarters so that dharma teachings can be held there instead of in a rented space. We welcome all donations to this worthy project in Brazil. All contributions will go exclusively to the renovation of the center. For more information about activities at Guna Norling, or to receive updates on the renovations now taking place, please contact the Director of Guna Norling.
Vairochana's Legacy®, Mangala Shri Bhuti’s translation group, works under the guidance of Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche, translating Tibetan texts into English, Japanese, Mandarin, and other languages. Vairochana’s Legacy produces translations of Tibetan Buddhist texts for use as both study and practice resources. Members of the translation group received a five-year shedra education under the daily tutelage of Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche. All the members have committed to engagement in consistent practice, study and contemplation, all of which are necessary for successful translations. We thank you for your interest in supporting this worthy endeavor. If you would like more information, please contact Vairochana's Legacy Secretary.
