Compassionate activity has always been intertwined with Buddhist practice. Actively helping those in need, making offerings and prayers to the buddhas and indigent womanbodhisattvas on behalf of all beings, and supporting the conditions for the sangha to flourish are ways of serving others that awaken our potential for sympathy and care.

Ten years ago, in honor of the passing of his mother, Mayum Tsewang Palden, Rinpoche initiated a set program of traditional offerings and prayers in Bodhgaya, India. Known as the Dana and Offering Program, each year Rinpoche and the sanghacarry out these myriad offerings and activities with the positive intention that they bring benefit to countless beings. Our sangha also engages in other forms of compassionate activity, such as saving lives and group offering practices for spiritual progress and world peace.

We are developing a section of the MSB site that will offer a complete portrait of compassionate activity within MSB. Providing both an overview of ourRinpoche releasing a bird charitable activity as well as yearly updates on the different programs and events, replete with color images, text and video, this section will offer a window onto this important aspect of our practice and vision and an organization. You will also be able to donate, if you are inspired, to the Asian Charity Fund, which supports many of our activities and, at the heart of it all, the Offering and Dana Program. If you have any questions currently or would like to be informed when this new site is online, please write to us at: dana@mangalashribhuti.org. Thank you for your interest. (1/6/2010.)
