Located in the mountains just west of Boulder, Phuntsok Choling is the central gathering place for Mangala Shri Bhuti's sangha in Colorado. Surrounded by meadows and pines, this attractive setting hosts several regular weekly and monthly events, as well as three annual public programs. MSB students and friends convene here each Sunday to listen to the LINK teachings. Once a month members hold a nyinthun, or extended group meditation practice. And study groups, readings and other community events are also scheduled periodically.
Each summer, Kongtrul Rinpoche offers the comprehensive Nyingma Summer Seminar, a nine-day program open to the public which includes teachings from all three yanas (vehicles) of Tibetan Buddhism: Hinayana, Mahayana, and Vajrayana. The MSB Shedra, held here in late summer, is a program modeled on Tibet's monastic educational tradition, and provides students with an in-depth exploration of classical Buddhist texts. Every winter, Rinpoche provides transmission and teachings on the beloved foundational text, The Words of My Perfect Teacher. Two annual drupchos are held at Phuntsok Choling for sangha members, and MSB has been fortunate to host many visiting teachers here. Elizabeth Mattis Namgyel and Dungse Jampal Norbu also offer regular teaching programs at the center.
Sunday Sitting and LINK Teachings
Please join us Sunday mornings for chants and sitting meditation at 9am, followed by the LINK teachings at 10 a.m. The weekly LINK is a live teaching given by Rinpoche, Dungse Jampal Norbu, Elizabeth Mattis Namgyel, and senior MSB students.
