Crestone, Colorado Osel Ling is MSB’s Mangalam Dharma Center in Crestone, Colorado. Crestone, located in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range, looks out on the San Luis Valley, one of the largest and highest valleys in the world. The Mangala Shri Bhuti sangha and larger community regularly gather at Osel Ling for group study and practice, and to listen to dharma teachings. During a visit to Crestone many years ago, Kyabje Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche auspiciously visited the house which would one day become our center here. He wrote a short benediction, translated here, for future practitioners, and gave it the name Osel Ling, or “Abode of Radiant Light.” Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche has taught many programs at Osel Ling, imbuing the center with blessings and fulfilling Khyentse Rinpoche’s aspiration. We have had the good fortune to host a number of revered teachers at Osel Ling, such as Kyabje Dilgo KhyentseYangsi Rinpoche, Dungse Jampal Norbu, Anam Thubten Rinpoche, and Elizabeth Mattis Namgyel. Weaspire to host many more such inspiring teachers at our simple center in Crestone to guide us along the path of the Buddhadharma. Sunday Sitting and LINK Teachings We will soon post our new summer Sunday Sitting schedule for meditation and the LINK teachings. The LINK is a weekly series of live, web-streamed teachings given by Kongtrul Rinpoche, Dungse Jampal Norbu, Elizabeth Mattis Namgyel, and senior MSB students. The morning schedule begins with opening prayers and sitting, followed by the LINK, and then closing prayers. All are welcome! And if you feel inspired to contribute to the center’s upkeep, please join us after the LINK for our Sunday cleaning. If you would like to visit Osel Ling, need directions, or are interested in staying informed about programs and events at Osel Ling, please call (303)709-0879 or e-mail Sarah Bennet at email@example.com.
