May bodhicitta, precious and sublime, arise where it has not yet come to be. Where it has arisen may it never fail, but grow and flourish more and more.
Unbroken lineages of wisdom traditions are rare in these times, and Kongtrul Rinpoche descends from a pure lineage of the Dzogpa Chenpo Longchen Nyingtik tradition of Tibetan Buddhism.
We have two main study and practice centers in America: Phuntsok Choling in Colorado and Pema Osel in Vermont. Rinpoche teaches the core MSB programs at these two centers. In addition, MSB has several city centers or groups around the world where people gather for group meditation and study, and to listen to the LINK teachings together.
Browse to any of the calendars to find out more about the teaching schedules of Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche, Dungse Jampal Norbu, or Elizabeth Mattis Namgyel. View the upcoming events at Phuntsok Choling, Pema Osel, or find out who is giving the next LINK talk.
MSB is a part of the Longchen Nyingtik and Khyen-Kong-Chok-Sum lineages. (Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo, Jamgon Kongtrul Lodro Thaye, and Terton Chokgyur Lingpa, collectively known as Khyen-Kong-Chok-Sum, were the heart of the Rimé, or nonsectarian, movement, which did so much to preserve and harmonize all schools of Tibetan Buddhism in the nineteenth century.)Â
August 16 and 17, 2025 | with Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche, Dr. Phuntsog Wangmo, Arnaud Coquillard, and Leticia Recepter | Hosted by Shang Shung School of Tibetan Medicine
The pace of modern life is increasing. We are constantly distracted by media, technology, commercials, instant messages, informational overload, notifications, and more. We think that in order to be successful, we need to keep up the pace, which makes us more anxious and agitated. In the end, instead of resting in the spaciousness of the moment, our mind is racing, and we get completely distracted.
How can we apply Buddhist principles of awareness to find calm in the middle of the storm? How can we perform our daily tasks while staying present? And is it possible that by slowing down, we can be more grounded, skillful, and joyful in daily activities?
Session 1: Exploring Presence through Tibetan Medicine and Buddhist Wisdomwith Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche & Dr. Phuntsog WangmoWhen: August 16, 11 am – 2 pm ET (New York)

In the first session, we will explore how to have a relaxed and aware mind in the context of the modern world. Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche will offer reflections from a more academic and contemplative perspective within the Buddhist tradition, while Dr. Phuntsog Wangmo will share practical and inspirational insights from the viewpoint of Traditional Tibetan Medicine, where mind and body are seen as deeply interconnected.
We are fortunate to be joined by two highly respected teachers, whose presence alone is a source of inspiration.
Session 2: The Practice of Slowing Down through Breath, Reflection, and Meditationwith Arnaud Coquillard & Leticia RecepterWhen: August 17, 11 am – 1:30 pm ET (New York)
In the second session, Arnaud Coquillard and Leticia Recepter will create a gentle space to share and explore, using the mind, the breath, and the movement as a starting point to notice how small shifts in awareness can support us in daily life. This is an open invitation to explore what resonates better with each person.

The workshop will be held in English with translation into Russian and Spanish.Recordings will be available if you can’t attend live.
