Lojong: Where Wisdom and Compassion Meet

Lojong, the Buddhist practice of mind training, gives us the tools we need to journey through our constantly changing lives and meet unexpected and unwanted experiences with confidence and clarity. The training begins with getting to know ourselves and finding solidarity and friendship with our own mind. Gradually the practice frees us from the negative habits that prevent us from realizing our full potential to benefit others. There has never been a better time to enhance our compassion for the world with the wisdom of lojong.

Opening the Heart Sutra Retreat: The Art of Contemplation

Buddhist teacher and author Elizabeth Mattis Namgyel will be teaching "Opening the Heart Sutra: The Art of Contemplation" December 9-12, 2021 as a live on-line, four-day retreat. During this retreat Elizabeth will guide us through a deep exploration of the Heart Sutra. The live retreat will be broadcast via Zoom. The program will be simulcast in English with Portuguese translation. This retreat is hosted by Elizabeth’s non-profit, The Middle Way Initiative.

Ngondro Retreat

Dungse Jampal Norbu and Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche will lead an online retreat in which a full reading of Patrul Rinpoche’s nineteenth-century text, the Words of My Perfect Teacher, and a detailed commentary are given. The transmission for the Longchen Nyingtik Ngondro liturgy, a terma revealed by Jigme Lingpa, will also be bestowed.
