In a 10 day annual summer seminar that Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche has likened to our community’s “Thanksgiving,” we gather to listen to, contemplate, and practice the teachings of the Three Yanas of Tibetan Buddhism. The Three Yanas – Hinayana, Mahayana, and Vajrayana – encompass the entire path, from the teachings on the Four Noble Truths to the Sacred World of the Vajrayana. The programs takes places outdoors under a large tent on the grounds of our center in Ward, CO, where a schedule of meditation, teachings, and social interaction provides a wonderful environment to appreciate our great fortune together as a sangha.

About The Teachers

Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche

Occasionally we encounter people in our lives who have an immediate effect upon us. We are struck by the selfless nature of their presence, the strength of their confidence, the wisdom in their eyes, or the warmth they radiate. Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche is one of these people.

Dungse Jampal Norbu

Dungse Jampal Norbu is Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche’s son and Dharma Heir. Dungse la has lived and traveled extensively in Asia, but spent much of his youth in Colorado. If you were to ask Dungse la how long he has been studying the Buddhist path.

Elizabeth Mattis Namgyel

Elizabeth Mattis Namgyel has studied and practiced the buddhadharma for twenty-five years under the guidance of her teacher and husband, Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche. After meeting Rinpoche in Nepal, she became his first Western student.
