May bodhicitta, precious and sublime, arise where it has not yet come to be. Where it has arisen may it never fail, but grow and flourish more and more.
Unbroken lineages of wisdom traditions are rare in these times, and Kongtrul Rinpoche descends from a pure lineage of the Dzogpa Chenpo Longchen Nyingtik tradition of Tibetan Buddhism.
We have two main study and practice centers in America: Phuntsok Choling in Colorado and Pema Osel in Vermont. Rinpoche teaches the core MSB programs at these two centers. In addition, MSB has several city centers or groups around the world where people gather for group meditation and study, and to listen to the LINK teachings together.
Browse to any of the calendars to find out more about the teaching schedules of Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche, Dungse Jampal Norbu, or Elizabeth Mattis Namgyel. View the upcoming events at Phuntsok Choling, Pema Osel, or find out who is giving the next LINK talk.
MSB is a part of the Longchen Nyingtik and Khyen-Kong-Chok-Sum lineages. (Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo, Jamgon Kongtrul Lodro Thaye, and Terton Chokgyur Lingpa, collectively known as Khyen-Kong-Chok-Sum, were the heart of the Rimé, or nonsectarian, movement, which did so much to preserve and harmonize all schools of Tibetan Buddhism in the nineteenth century.)

Location: Phuntsok Choling |
Teacher: Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche
In the Rigdzin Dupa drupcho, Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche and MSB lineage students practice the guru sadhana from the Longchen Nyingtik tradition. The focus of this practice intensive is the accumulation of 100,000 tsok offering prayers.
The merit, or positive intention and action, of the drupcho is dedicated to world peace, the longevity of masters who are teaching in the world, greater compassion towards all beings, genuine spiritual progress on the path, and harmony both within the sangha and the larger community of Buddhist practitioners, as well as throughout the world. Rinpoche has spoken of drupcho practice as a “wish-fulfilling jewel” for bringing about accomplishments on the path and a true labor of love.
Even in the virtual environment, the sadhana practice of a drupcho is a precious opportunity to practice alongside the teacher’s bodhicitta. To make prayers and aspirations alongside the teacher in the spirit of compassion and wisdom that the teacher embodies, is a profound and often life-changing experience.
This retreat is in-person and online and open to everyone who has gone through the MSB Lineage Ceremony. If you have questions about attendance, please write to the Study and Practice department. If you can’t participate in the retreat, you can still share the merit and blessings of this feast practice by making an offering or a prayer request.
If you are a formal MSB student, you will receive an email that includes a registration link. If you are new to Tsok practice and want more instruction, the Vajrayana Primer has been created to help you. If you are a formal lineage student, please reach out to dorjelobponbob@mangalashribhuti.org, and he will give you access to the syllabus of this self-study course.
